The grade REPSOL ALCUDIA 1940C is a low density polyethylene grade, produced by high pressure autoclave technology, especially intended for extrusion coating. This material offers an adequate balance between easy processability, good organoleptic properties, excellent adhesion and low neck-in. It does not contain any additives. Applications • Extrusion coating. • Coextruded thin film. • Injection moulding. Temperature range depending on the processed polymers and final application. The grade REPSOL ALCUDIA 1970C is a low density polyethylene for extrusion coating, especially developed for high speed coating. Very high drawdown speeds are achieved throughout the extrusion temperature range, and thin coatings are possible at low temperatures. The molecular structure of the polymer produces an excellent clear coating. Applications • Extrusion coating. • Coextruded thin film. Recommended melt temperature range from 280 to 330ºC. Its molecular characteristics make it be an excellent product for the Monosil process. The outstanding feature of this product is its cross-linking efficiency. This grade does not contain antioxidant therefore its addition is necessary to guarantee thermal stability of the final product. Applications • Insulation of low voltage cables. The conditions of transformation and the quality of silane used are the fundamental parameters to obtain adequate cross-linking and surface finish. It is recommended a melt temperature of 200ºC - 220ºC. The temperature profile, however, will largely depends on the type of machine used. REPSOL ALCUDIA 2202C meets the following standards: ISO 1872 KN 23D001/003; ASTM D 1248 I,A5 Grade E5.

It contains well dispersed carbon black and antioxidant in order to ensure UV radiation resistance and thermal ageing respectively. The outstanding features of this grade are its excellent processability, which makes suitable product for self-soported cable, and its good environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR). Applications • Black jacketing of telecommunication cables. It is recommended a temperature profile between 150 – 210ºC. Optimal processing conditions must be tuned for each production line. REPSOL ALCUDIA CP121 is high molecular weight, low density polyethylene compound designed for telephone and coaxial cables. This product provides a superior performance at high-speed extrusion together with a smooth surface finish of the cable. This grade contains a special stabilization system for protection against thermal and shear degradation during processing and it also contains a metal deactivator to ensure long-term ageing properties. Applications • Solid insulation for telephone cables. It is recommended a temperature profile between 150 – 220ºC. Optimal processing conditions must be tuned for each production line, recommending to use filters and a break plate to increase the pressure in the cylinder and consequently improve the cable quality, homogenization and dispersion of pigments in the case of colored cable. REPSOL ALCUDIA CP121 meets the following specifications: ISO 1872 PE KHN 23D003; ASTM D 1248 I, A5, Grade E5; NF C 32-060 ISM1; VDE 0207 Teil 2 24I1.

This grade has the following features: excellent processability, high cross-linking rate and smooth surface finish. This product does not contain additives, so antioxidant must be added. REPSOL ALCUDIA T40N is a low density polyethylene black compound produced in high pressure tubular process designed for the extrusion of pressure pipes for potable water, to comply with the requirements of EN 12201 for materials classified as PE40. The combination of the antioxidant system and minimum of 2.0 % well dispersed carbon black used in REPSOL ALCUDIA T40N provides an excellent protection against thermal oxidation during processing and good long-term thermal stability and UV resistance. Because other good mechanical properties and their characteristics, the polyethylene black compound REPSOL ALCUDIA T40N, is designed to produce: Applications - Black pipes for potable water distribution under pressure. - Black pipes for micro irrigation under pressure. Recommended melt temperature range from 170-190ºC. Processing conditions should be optimised for each production line. Conditions will depend on size of the pipe produced and extrusion equipment used.

The grade REPSOL ALCUDIA 117/TD is a Ni quencher (yellow greenish color), and benzophenone UV masterbatch LDPE based specially designed for the production of films for covering greenhouses. The grade REPSOL ALCUDIA 117/TD, apart from the UV stabilizers, contains antiblock and special antioxidant package of additives. This masterbatch, when properly used, provides high solar radiation resistance. Applications REPSOL ALCUDIA 117/TD is specially indicated to produce films for greenhouses and tunnels cover. 180 µm thickness films have a lifetime of two continuous agricultural seasons (two winters and one summer) in geographical areas where the maximum solar radiation is 160 kLy. The recommended melt temperature range is from 190-210 ºC. Processing conditions should be optimized for each production line. REPSOL ALCUDIA 117/TD is specially indicated to produce films with high solar radiation resistance for greenhouses and tunnels cover. Repsol recommends these dosing of REPSOL ALCUDIA 117/TD with LDPE to produce films, for greenhouses in the geographical zones where the maximum solar radiation is 160 kLy: • 7 % to produce films having a lifetime of two continuous agricultural seasons (two winters and one summer). • 10% to produce films having a lifetime of two years. The film duration depends on the quality of the blend. In order to obtain a very good dispersion and homogenization of the additives in the film, the blend must be done under the best conditions.
