SELF-ADHESIVE LIQUID SILICONE RUBBER
Self-adhesive liquid silicone rubbers of the ELASTOSIL® LR 3072 series are paste-like, easily pigmentable two-component compounds with extremely short curing times. Shortly after the curing process a thin oil film with lubricating properties forms on the surface of the vulcanizates.
Special features
- ELASTOSIL® LR 3072 series are primerless, selfbonding grades that adhere to various plastic substrates (e. g. PA, PBT) and metals, but not in the mold. The bonding is improved by a subsequent heat treatment process (e. g. one hour at 100 °C) or by a longer storing at room temperature. Because of the individual surface properties adhesion to the substrate must be tested before production. The vulcanizates are noted for good mechanical and electrical properties. For further information on tested material combinations please refer to the corresponding adhesion tables which are available upon request from the responsible sales manager.
Application
- ELASTOSIL® LR 3072 series are particularly suitable for the economical production of large series of overmolded parts (thermoplastic/elastomer), even in a comolding process (shuttle mold) under standard conditions, without any special treatment of the mold surface.

HIGH OIL-BLEEDING LIQUID SILICONE RUBBER WITH IMPROVED CUT RESISTANCE
High oil-bleeding liquid silicone rubbers of the ELASTOSIL® LR 3856 series are paste-like, easily pigmentable two-component products with short curing times and very good demoldability (high hot tear resistance).
Shortly after curing a thin oil film with lubricating properties forms on the surface. The vulcanizates are opaque, have very good mechanical and electrical properties, excellent cut resistance, and low compression set without post-cure.
Application
- ELASTOSIL® LR 3856/30 A/B is particularly suitable for the economical production of electrical connector seals and mat seals for the automotive industry.
