Films of Polyetherimide (PEI) are amorphous and suitable for high termperature applications. Additionally, they have an excellent combination of thermal, mechanical and electrical properties, along with very low flammability and low levels of smoke evolution during combustion. These features make PEI especially well suited for electrical and electronic insulators. Additionally, applications in a variety of structural components requiring high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures have used PEI films. Polyetherimide resists a wide range of chemicals and has good resistance to UV and gamma radiation. Its glass transition temperature allows for use at high temperatures while maintaining the high mechanical properties. Electrical properties show very good stability under variable temperatures, humidity and frequency conditions. Moreover, PEI films exhibit a low dissipation factor even at very low frequencies. The color of this material is an orange amber.

AuroraGuard™ 171-(a) is a 20% fiberglass reinforced, flame retardant, Polyetherimide injection molding grade. Where (a) equals a 5-digit number indicating either an amber natural, black, or custom color. Formerly branded as ENVIROPLAS®.

DuraTemp PEI 1000RP is a reprocessed general purpose injection molding grade of Polyetherimide. This is alternative equivalent to Ultem 1000. The product is available in all custom colors except for bright white. PEI is characterized by excellent stiffness, creep resistance, and heat deflection performance.

DURATEMP PEI30CFBK is a 30% carbon fiber filled Polyetherimide compound. It is available in AMR, EUR, and PAC. It is available in black.

Duratron® U1000 PEI Polyetherimide shapes exhibit high strength, dimensional stability, and superior flame and heat resistance. Due to this grade's ability to perform continuously to 340°F / 170°C, Duratron® U1000 PEI is the ideal solution for applications that require consistent dielectric properties over a wide frequency range. Another strength of Duratron® U1000 PEI shapes are their hydrolysis and chemical resistance, enabling them to withstand repeated autoclaving cycles in medical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology markets.

Duratron® U2100 PEI Polyetherimide shapes are 10% glass-reinforced, giving them great rigidity and dimensional stability, and a low Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion. With an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and tensile strength, this grade is also ideal for for semiconductor and electronics applications.

Duratron® U2200 PEI Polyetherimide shapes are 20% glass-reinforced, giving them exceptional rigidity and dimensional stability, high temperature resistance, and a low Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion. With an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and increased tensile strength, this grade is also a great electrical insulator for semiconductor and electronics applications.

Duratron® U2300 PEI is a flame resistant Polyetherimide that is 30% glass-reinforced, allowing this grade to exhibit the highest rigidity, strength, dimensional stability, and heat resistance of all Duratron® PEI shapes.
